Health, Wellbeing and Support

Time and health are two precious assets that we don’t recognize and appreciate until they have been depleted.” – Denis Waitley

These pages have been designed to help provide inspiration, fun activity suggestions and useful information/services and links.

Seeing that you have made it to this page, means that you are likely to understand the importance of nurturing your Health and Wellbeing. But what do they really mean and why are they so important to us, especially today?

Our physical and mental health are inextricably linked with our sense of wellbeing, and it has been demonstrated that having good (mental or physical) health is far more than just a lack of illness but includes a state of overall wellness (or wellbeing), for example how positive, content, resilient and happy we may feel.

“The World Health Organisation states that wellbeing is “a state of complete physical, mental, and social wellbeing, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

The NHS.uk website suggests five steps that we can all take to improve our health and wellbeing. You can access this by visiting their website.

One step they suggest, as you no doubt already know, is being physically active, and our beautiful parks and open spaces not only help provide an inspirational place for physical health activities but can also help people connect, learn new skills and give to others and the community, via volunteering and various groups.  Please see the Get Involved link on our Home Page for some ideas!
