Friends of the parks

Are you interested in making a positive contribution to the management and development of your local park?  Then please join the Friends group to help make a difference.

Main objectives of Friends groups are to:

  • promote the responsible use of the parks
  • enhance the parks for the benefit of the whole community
  • improve the recreational and educational facilities of the parks
  • enhance, protect and promote the natural environment within the parks
  • protect and promote the heritage and historical artefacts of the parks
  • raise funds to support the work of the group

A place for news on projects relating to improving the parks and open spaces throughout Barking & Dagenham.

Love Greatfields Park

A newly formed community of local residents that love, enjoy and care for Greatfields Park and keep it a GREAT place for visitors

Friends of St Chads Park  

This recently re-formed Friends group is currently looking for local residents and park users to join the group and participate in setting up and running events and activities in St Chads Park for the benefit of everyone.

Friends of Barking Park  

Love Valence Park

A group for originally set up to raise funds for the 2018 playground refurbishment, now an ongoing community group that loves its local park
